I am excited to announce that Daddyshome, Inc., the National At-Home Dad Network, is changing its name to the more concise The National At-Home Dad Network.

The National At-Home Dad Network supports, educates and advocates for fathers who are the primary caregivers of their children. The latest U.S. Census report found 32% of all married fathers are primary caregivers, more commonly defined as “at-home dads.” The move was made to simplify the organization’s name and to clarify what the group does, what it stands for and what its objective is.

The Board unanimously approved the name change on Jan. 19, 2012, the members of The National At-Home Network ratified it at the end of March and the Commonwealth of Virginia, where the organization is incorporated, certified the name change last week.

The National At-Home Network believes the name change will help members, sponsors, the media and the public gain an instant understanding of what the organization is about.

The organization has more than 2,000 members from across the United States and Canada. It runs the Annual At-Home Dads Convention, which will be in its 17th consecutive year on October 6 2012, and owns and operates the websites daddyshome.org, athomedad.org and athomedadconvention.com.

The National At-Home Dad Network name change will be gradually phased in as the organization updates its websites, logos and other materials.
