The program will feature an entertaining and insightful presentations directed toward men on a very real and important topics facing at-home dads, such as isolation, stress and handling tougher times.

The Saturday Oct. 19 Keynote address will be Children’s Hospital Colorado pediatrician and published author, Dr. Harley Rotbart. He will be discussing “No Regrets Parenting,” which is also the title of his latest book. Rotbart will talk to convention attendees about taking the everyday, mundane aspects of parenting routines and helping to make them worthwhile and meaningful moments with children.

Other planned breakout sessions include discussions on fitness, children’s literacy, finance, spousal relationships, among much more. There will also be popular peer discussions such as those based on child age groups.

The convention gets off to an unofficial start on Thursday evening with a Dad’s Night Out where attendees can meet other dads who make the trip to Denver for the convention. Attendees will further get to connect with their fellow at-home dads at Friday’s Meet and Greet sponsored by Safari Ltd. This is the second consecutive year Safari has sponsored the Meet and Greet and the company flooded 2012 convention goers with giveaways, including several popular toy options.

The Saturday night dinner, a convention tradition, will take place this year at the historical Wynkoop Brewing Company in Denver’s LoDo District. The Wynkoop was Colorado’s first brewpub, helped founded by current Gov. John Hickenlooper. Concluding the convention schedule for the first time will be a Breakfast with the Board, where convention attendees can chat and mingle with National At-Home Dad Board members one last time before they head home.

This year’s convention hotel will be the SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown. The hotel is located just steps away from the convention venue, across the street from the Pepsi Center, where the NBA’s Nuggets and the NHL’s Avalanche play, and a short walk from downtown Denver attractions LoDo, Larimer Square and the 16th Street Mall.
