We are going Bananas!

We are meeting this Friday (last minute, I know) at a new location for the cincinnati area. Bananas is Liberty Township's newest indoor playground with lots of inflatable slides and bouncies. Take your socks off and join the kids or sit back in the parent's lounge area and eat some Papa John's pizza. The price is $5.50 per person (under 2 gets in FREE).

ChicagoDads welcomes fathers of all descriptions to our weekly Thursday playgroup.

This week we will meet at Margate Park Playground. Conveniently located close to a lot of Vietnamese food it's right off LSD at Foster Avenue. The park has a large newer playlot and a parking lot. It's also just a half mile from the RedLine Argyll stop.

Like Noah before him, Parky the Raccoon was forced to place all of the world's species onto an ark. And just like the Biblical flood waters cascading through Earth's canyons propelling Noah's divine craft into unchartered salvation, Parky's Ark will carry our children unto great adventures too.

OK so Im a huge fan of Language Stars. Andrew has gone for the past year and really enjoys it. It combines crafts, singing, and full language immersion (Spanish, French, Italian, German, or Mandarin).

They opened a new facility last week with a ton of parking and huge classrooms. So if you were at all interested in the idea this might give you a place to check out.

*UPDATE* THIS DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO SATURDAY 26th DUE TO CONFLICTS!

Check out that beer!

Dudes need a night out every once in a while. Why not spend it at a place with gigantic beers and pleasant outdoor seating?

Our first DNO will be at Houfbrauhaus in Newport, Kentucky. It's just across the street from the Aquarium and all that. I'm open to changing the date if everyone can't come because we're only a trio at this point. That's an open challenge for lurkers to come and drink. Bring it... lurkers!

We're venturing outside Pasadena to one of the most scenic parks in the area. Lacy Park has infant swings, two playstructures, restrooms, and lots of green space for running and playing ball. As well as pavement for bike riding.

Lacy Park is located at 1485 Virginia Road in San Marino, CA 91108. You will have to walk a way from the parking lot, so you may want to bring a stroller.

Here's a map of the area:

Have fun guys, I'm on vacation and won't be back till July 5th.

Tomorrow afternoon, Ana and I are going to Foster Avenue Beach around 2:00 PM for an hour or perhaps an hour and a half depending on the weather. The forecast finally looks fairly decent for a beach day. I know there's the normal Thursday morning playdate but for those who can't make the morning event like us or for those with enough energy for two playdates, look for us near where the stroller / walkway ends by the water.

Gents,

You deserve a break today! Location and time will be posted soon. The "190 North" piece will air that night, so for those of you who can stay out until 10:35, we'll watch the piece there.

I'm searching for a suitable venue that might have a separate area or room with a TV. FTB is closed at the moment. If you know of one, please email me at jimjillchicago@hotmail.com.

Cheers,
JIm

Gentleman,

We'll head to Will's Northwoods Inn for some fun and some 190 North on Sunday night. If you're from Wisconsin, this place should feel like home. There are various dead animals on the walls, Lombardi posters, darts, bratwurst, and cheese curds.

Gents,

I'll be at Portage Park with the kids this morning from 10-12. It has a nice playground and there is tons of green space and trees in the park.

If you are a swimmer, there is also an Olympic-size swimming pool that held the 1972 Olympic trials. I'll buy you a beer if you can beat any of Mark Spitz's times. There is also a baby pool. We will not be swimming today.

LaRosa's is sponsoring the 9th Annual Balloon Glow at Coney Island Water Park. The event is FREE! The only thing that you would have to pay for is $10 parking, and if you want to swim in the sunlite pool or ride any rides.

A Balloon Glow is when hot air balloons inflate with hot air and look all pretty at dusk. This seems like a fun event. I've never been to Coney Island. I hope everyone has a chance to bring the entire family - wives are invited too.
