Cas Haley, the at-home dad on America's Got Talent, was just robbed of a million dollars. The American public voted for a ventriloquist act over a phenomenal singer/songwriter who really deserved to win.
And yes, in the span of a few weeks, I've admitted to being a fan of Ellen, Just For Laughs, and now... America's Got Talent. :) I'm only a fan of Cas Haley, though. I hope he goes on to make and sell a lot of records.
I know Terry Fator -- I brought him in to perform at our school, and while I think it is cool that Cas Haley is an at home dad, talent-wise, Terry is head and shoulders above just about everyone else in the competition.
His talent doesn't translate as well to TV, since we are skeptical of what's shown by the nature of the medium, but he can impersonate just about any singer, male or female, and many ventriloquily. To see this guy in person is just amazing. Did you see the reactions of the judges? Sure, they were kissing up to everyone by the last two shows, but Hasselhoff was falling out of his seat and the British guys jaw was dropped in awe.
He will be the Jim Henson of this generation. In his act, he does spot on duets with his puppets and a lot more comedy too. I'd be willing to bet he has a Cas Haley impersonation down already to spoof AGT in Vegas. I hope he makes a Hoff puppet, too.
Cas is a great singer, and he will probably be quite set from the exposure, but it is not quite a million dollars.
It would be cool if he'd play the convention!
