You can create your own

You can create your own group at the top under Local Groups, but you'll have to recruit for it. There generally isn't enough traffic here for a random person from your area to happen to stop by.

Think about getting the newspaper to write a story, put up fliers and direct people to your playgroup on athomedad.org, or some people have gone so far as to make business cards to spread the word. Once you get things rolling, it should be a lot easier. But you generally can't wait until somebody else starts it because it will likely never happen.

Some thoughts

Instructions on making a group here (as ticktock mentioned) are at:

http://athomedad.org/node/396

After you make the group, you'll then have a place to direct people to. By getting "Sioux City" in the listing, you'll get some Sioux City traffic from search engines stopping by to read your post. There's more traffic here than it might appear - there are a lot of silent lurkers.

Also, it's not Sioux City, but there are these guys in Des Moines:

You might want to try networking with them.

I know an at home dad in the

I know an at home dad in the "Finer" Sioux land area. I sit with him at Nebraska football games. I'll let him know to check out this post if I see him in the next few weeks. He is partially disabled, so I don't know how well he gets out and about during the day. I think he gets help from his sister or sister in law.

You can always make the drive down I-29 to check out the at home dads group we have in Omaha. It might be worth it if they set up a trip to the zoo. www.linomadads.org for group updates.
