This is second in a series of Pumpkin Beer reviews that the older (like myself) and Punk Rocker and At Home Dad Greg Barbera recommended I do, and being accommodating to such great request, I was only too happy to oblige and be charged with this task. Therefore, off to our local mega liquor store this At Home Dad went last night.
The Punkin Ale brewed with Pumpkin and Spices; the beer has an appealing new wave label to match its brother beers, which made me to buy this overpriced nine-dollar four-pack. Upon popping the cap, I was not immediately drawn to this flavor of beer by its fresh fall bouquet, in fact it had very little bouquet at all.
The cinnamon aroma not wafting from the bottle as I put it to my lips for my first long draw of the sudsy contents made me highly skeptical! After delighting in this first imbibe of beer I was seriously delighted after the initial taste. It ended in a smooth easy finish.
As I consumed the rest of the Punkin Ale, the taste of Pumpkin diminished but not entirely, this made me reconsider the making of this beer. In the end I liked it! The flavor of this beer led me to grand thoughts of a serious buzz if I had all four in one sitting. My delight of this smooth fall beer quickly sent elation to my head along with a numbing effect to my limbs; it will be attending my favorite fall festivities. The label around the neck just says “Punk” and every time I look at the bottle I think of the band, The Chest Pains!

i knew a beer thread would be good for something!

but seriously, i just can't handle flavored beers like that.

i love me some hoppy ass Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA (with its minty, piney bouquet and smooth quaffabilty) or Bell's Brewery's sweet Two Hearted Ale... but lambics, raspberries, pumpkins, cherries... i just don't like my beer to taste like Froot Loops or pie!

That said, Milehi maybe you need to be the beer delegate for Colorada at the http://www.united-nations-of-beer.com/beers-of-the-world-blog.html

There's perks... I'm one of the NC delegates.
