We will be driving in sometime Thursday evening, and wanted to know who else is going to be there. I thought I read somewhere that is was the KC dads night out. Or any recomendations on something close to the hotel?

I land Thurs at noon. Here's the info on festivities from a previous post by Andy F.
"Great stuff this year: Thursday night (11/1) DNO with the KCDADs group at a new entertainment district west of town. We'll be having dinner at The Yard House (100+ beers on tap) and possibly going bowling at Pin-Up Bowl afterwards (marketed as a bowling alley/martini bar with night-club atmosphere...basically a new bowling alley with much better ambient lighting than usual). Friday features, as Dayv mentioned, a tour of the Harley assembly plant in the late morning and the official Meet & Greet at Boulevard Brewery at 6:00 pm Friday evening...transportation will be provided from the hotel, leaving at 5:45. The convention runs 8-5 on Saturday (breakfast and lunch included), and there will be an optional post-convention dinner at a great BBQ join at 7:30 that evening

I think Andy will email all participants the rundown of events and contact numbers. He is in the middle of a move to Cali, so it may be right before the convention when you get it. There are plans to wrap up Thursday night at a bar very near the hotel, I believe. We will probably congregate on Thursday, like last year, at the managers special beer offering in the lobby. If you see a bunch a guys huddled around beers in the lobby, its probably us. I think the cheap beer is from 5-7pm. Mike and I will get in around 3pm on Thursday from Nebraska....you never know who will show up early. We probably won't have a hospitality room available to us until Friday night, like last year.

Brief update...as Phil mentioned, I'm the midst of some serious insanity organizing a move, but we DO have a plan for Thursday: with some input from the KCDADs and a desire to stick close to the hotel, we will be having dinner at McCoys Brew Pub, about 1 mile from the hotel in Westport. We are likely to stay there unless the weather is really balmy, then after dinner we might head over to the patio at O'Dowd's Pub, closer to the hotel. I also hope to have the hospitality room set up...so we might just end up there...
Convention participants will get an email from me in the next 24 hours with more details as well as contact numbers...
