A good book (and a way for me to stay home with my daughter)

Hi there. I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself, having only just discovered the site last week. I contacted Mike about featuring my children's book, "Alena & the Favorite Thing," on this site, and decided that I'd support the site by advertising. That's why I now have the pleasure of being one of the first advertisers on athomedad.org (that's my book that's going to "Give your child a SMILE this holiday!"), as well as a new poster and reader of the wealth of info and advice found here.

The parenthetical section of my subject line is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but this book is definitely special to me, and I'm hopeful that some day soon it will actually bring in enough money for me to only need to go into the office part-time. After working from home for five years, I've recently swapped roles with my wife, and she started a home-based business while I returned to the office (and a regular paycheck.)

I'm currently working on the second book in the series, in addition to a number of film projects (more on those on www.ebafilms.com), and I'd really appreciate the feedback of the dads on this site with regard to "Alena & the Favorite Thing." The official website for the book is www.alenabooks.com, and you can check out a partial preview of the book from there.

Anyone who wants to talk about the book, writing, films (or anything else that trips your trigger) can email me at author@alenabooks.com. And, of course, I'll be making regular trips back to athomedad.org, too.

Cheers!

Eric Anderson

Thanks Eric.

Thanks for joining the site. And, thanks for becoming a sponsor before plugging your book. Since you did that, I will actually click on your links. I usually dislike people who just come here to promote, but at least you contributed in your own way.

Just curious, what is the "office" job that you are doing?

Peace.

What I Do

I work as a graphic designer during the day for a British market research company called Mintel International. It's not the most rewarding job in the world, but it's paying the bills.

Thanks for the welcome message and thanks for letting me plug my book. This is a great site, and I intend to be an active participant. My daughter is just beginning to enter into the "terrible two" phase, so it's nice to have a place to come and learn from others' experiences.

Thanks again,

Eric
