Hello--

I'm a feature writer with the Daily Herald newspaper in suburban Chicago. I thought you might be able to help me with a story I'm working on -- a look at "postpartum" weight-gain in men. I know this topic isn' t the primary focus of the At-Home Dads Convention, but there might be members of your group who'd be willing to help me with the story.

I'm a new father (my son is 11 months old). After he was born, I went through the same things all new parents do, which means I barely got any sleep, I had no time to go to the gym, and I started relying more and more on fast food. The end result, of course, is that I gained weight. I thought it would be interesting to write a story about this from a dad's angle, as most articles about fitness after childbirth focus, rightfully, on moms. I wonder if you know of any new fathers who would be willing to chat with me about this. The catch is that they HAVE to be from suburban Chicago--my newspaper covers the region surrounding Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, the location of your group's annual convention for many years. If you know of anyone from this area who might be a good subject for me, please pass my contact info along.
