Absolutely. If there were four, fourteen or twenty-four of us, I think it would be informative and fun. We NC dads have it pretty good (climate, things to do) and pretty bad (some slow thinkin' folks 'round here). We'd have a lot to talk about.
oh i can grill up some veggies and pineapple and banana and god's knows what else... (bread!! i love grillin' bread!)
anyway, email me: and we can get the ball rolling. hey, even if it's coming to town with the family and ditching out at my yard for a few hours or skipping out for a night, it's time for the NC dads to unite!!!
Sorry for the delay in response -- family emergency that may not end for a long time. Got back at 2am from a 40 hour trip to LV (not for fun). I'm not hunting for sympathy or anything here, but, outside of my kids (playing here in front of me) and my wife, my life is brutally stressful right now.
Know that I will supply/help/deliver/produce whatever is asked of me (but I can't bake).
Arron
do what you gotta do and what's best for you and your family
what i'm planning is two months off at best - and as parents things can change in an instant so i understand - i expect this to be a low-key, by-the-seat-of-the-pants thing.
i'll clear the weekend and provide the hospitality... but if nobody could attend, a night alone wouldn't be so bad.
Hate to say it, but I'm going to have to miss this one. My folks are taking the family to the beach (free trip and babysitting from the grandparents? Hell Yea!) over the week of Memorial Day. We'll be driving through the area on Saturday on our way back, but I don't think it would fly for my wife to drop me off at Greg's house while she continues on to Charlotte solo.
Dude- that's whats so fucked up about this- I literally do nothing. I'm free the week after that, 6/7, or really any other time. I'm only not available 5/24 (leaving for beach) or 5/31 (back from beach). No shit- any other time and I am there.
pushed the NC Dad Summit date back a week so jon could come (which AMR would come). cynical dad is a possibility. red squirrel don't think he can as his wife works on weekends but maybe. i've got a couple of locals lads as well so i'm looking at somewhere between 6 to 10. backyard tenting and couch space available and i might be able to get a cheap hotel rate at my wife's hotel for those who like to powder their balls in private.
I like Jon, but I don't liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike Jon. I would probably check "no" were he to ask in school boy letter form whether or not spooning is an option at this thing.
I'd come the week before or on the 7th. I'd tent in the backyard happily (but am such an amateur that someone would likely have to help me set my tent up).
Alright fellas I'm in for June 7. I'll probably get a hotel room, no smoking, no dude spooning. Looking forward to it- thanks for bumping the date out for me. I'm such a blast that you will really be glad you did. Yep. You will say, "man, that was a great decision".
do Juno 7. The wife is working AND it's my 10th wedding anniversary that weekend. It sounds like most of you like the date, so stick with it and I'll catch you guys on the flipside.
Get yourself to Statesville. That's only 15-20 minutes from you. (That's where I'm at). How old is your kid? I've got 2. One's almost 3 and the other is almost 1. The first thing to figure out is, don't stay in the house!! Get out and do anything, even if it's just a nice walk (that's actually our favorite activity). So get yourself to Statesville and we'll take the kids out to lunch, or picnic in our enormous new backyard. There are a couple of other dad's around here too.
Hi Matt,My kids are 14,10,9 and 4 month old.I'm disabled. So all I do is stay at home.Mess around with trucks and tractor to keep from going crazy LOL.I cant do much like walk, standing and etc.But im not going to give up.I just do what I can but sometime I do push myself then I pay for it.
I'd be interested as well.

might need to change the date then
i'll keep it open for now
abd start to brainstorm an alternative time/date.
maybe sometime in the summer when we are all at our wits end from kids 24/7, seven days a week.
Cool
But don't feel like you all have to change it for me. I blundered originally when I said that the weekend was free for me.
sorry for the delay . . .
that week will do but I'd be in for changing so Jon can attend as well.
