Yes, butt wiping. So...now that the main part of potty training is done, how do you get them to wipe well without assistance? At what age is this even possible and when does it usually happen?
Butt Wiping

Working on that now with my 4 year old son. He's starting to get it.
We started with cottonelle wet wipes after my oldest would wipe his butt and then crumple it up like a piece of paper. He would look at me like "Why is there poop on my hands?" The wet wipes worked great since they are huge on his little hands. About 4 is when we started. I am now teaching my second son who is 4.

My 4.5yo: When he poops, he calls and calls until I finally give up and come in the bathroom. He will not tear off any paper yet, because it is awkward for him to reach. I tear off some and hand it to him. He takes it reluctantly. I tell him to wipe where the poopy comes out. I keep handing him wads of TP until it comes back mostly clean or he has done this 4 or 5 times. Then I follow-up with one or two wipes, usually with one of them being a wet wipe.
It has taken about a year to get to this level. I hope we can make more progress soon.

My 5 YO has a ton of reasons why he can't, "they're loose"" they stink" "I can't" and it is the bane of my existence these days.
“What do you do in school?” I ask. Him, “I just don’t go poop at school”. Me, “that has to be uncomfortable sometimes.” Him, “No Dad, I just don’t.”
