Greetings from "wind-blown" Atlanta. For those who were concerned about me Friday night (all 1, maybe 2 of you) Just a note to say we emerged unscathed from Friday's downtown tornado. We live in the western suburbs and weren't affected by the storm, but many friends who live in the Cabbagetown neighborhood were. I spent the weekend wielding my chain saw, picking up debris, and helping tarp roofs (also escaping my Mother-in-Law). Although I live out of the downtown area, Friday night was a poker night and we were playing at a friends house maybe 3/4 mile away from Cabbagetown proper and I did witness the funnel and the noise that it made. The hair on the back of my neck still hasn't retreated. I might make a suggestion to my AHD fellowship - if you haven't already, please buy a weather radio to put in your house. The people of downtown had only 8 minutes of warning, but at least they had some sort of warning. Thankfully, there were no fatalities, and very few injuries, but you can't expect those odds every time severe weather happens. I'll post some pics later this afternoon, now i have to dodge the M-in-L....

Was wondering about y'all to the east.

We had it bad here, but nothing like what downtown ATL had. Glad to know you're alright.

Those storms are an act of nature but how does a M-in-L get dodged?
It's good to hear you and yours are unscathed from the twister, Paddyrat! Keep running man, and use those Waldo Payton moves if you need too, a rabid M-in-L has been known to instill fear in the strongest of men!

Good to know you, your family, and your friends are OK. My twin brother and niece live in Atlanta, and I called him as soon as I found out it happened. Him and my niece are also fine, but they are also shaken up. It is not too often that you come that close to a tornado. Good luck with the clean-up.
