I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I know that there are those among us who don't acknowledge the Resurrection, but there also are those of us who do. Letting this day go by without some recognition would be wrong for me. This Sunday is considered, by many Western Churches, to be the Holiest Day of the liturgical year. So,

Happy Easter to all.

(P.S. -- If you don't celebrate Easter as such, I also hope you have a great holiday with your families. There are many great dads writing and lurking around here, and your wives and kids are all lucky to have you.)

Thanks

Although I do not celebrate the religious aspects of the Easter holiday, I still celebrate it as a day to cherish my family. Thank you all for your kind words to those of us who believe differently, and I hope that your holiday was as joyous and fulfilling as mine was with my family. One of the reasons I love this site is that it is truly great that all of us here can talk with respect towards one another no matter our beliefs.

Happy Easter everyone!

Funny...

Funny, Chef. Actually, there is an old gospel song that goes, "Were you there when they nailed him to the cross..." or something along those lines.

I wasn't at the cross, the tomb or the road to Emmaus, but my family and I celebrated a religious Easter and the secular Easter.

I hope you had a wonderful and meaningful weekend.

Renewal

Although I was raised Catholic I have always personally taken Easter to be a time of renewal, a day to reflect and recommit to our endeavors in life. For us family men that often means a pause to “see” and not “look” at our lives and the gifts that we have been given, though our labors, our wives and partners, and the beauty of our children.

Be Seeing You.
