Hi everyone! I'm a 28 year old stay at home dad. I am kinda new to this, though. I have 3 boys: 4 (almost 5), 3 (just turned), and 1 year old. I have been a cable tech for the last 5 years and due to some recent medical problems and forced to stay home while the wife goes out to work for the first time. Just wanted to say hi and I have already found some good info here, so thanks.
Hi all

are amazing. I salute the hell out of you.
Welcome to the site calebdaddy3. It's a lot of fun and also informative.
Jump in on any thread you want. It will probably spur new discussion on dead threads, or keep discussion going on live threads. I love the thread thingy on the right that I can just look at when I come back on (every 2 hours, it seems).

Feel free to join us at the At Home Dads Convention in Sacramento CA in November. I may have stepped out of line with the invite but what the hell! Welcome aboard.

I've only been on here for five days and found a treasure of info.
One day I asked god to surround me with beautiful women and he gave me six girls and one boy. Here you can ask these guys anything and you will find them very knowledgeable. Is there a spell check on this thing?

Failure is not an option!

I second what the above gentleman said about the convention invitation.
*and no, you weren't out of line with the invite, please invite as many people as you can*
Welcome to the crowd.

Welcome, Cabledaddy. This is a vital lifeline. I check in here several times a day for laughs, information and as a way to stay sane while hanging out with my nearly 9-month-old daughter. I also have a son who's almost 6. Lots of adventures, but not as many as you guys with 3 or more kids -- I still can't believe Bellyman's got 7!
My best friend when I was growing up was one of 6 boys. Was great when it came time to play football, baseball, basketball and hockey, that's for sure.

Just Kidding - Welcome! I'm rarely here, but when I am, I find the website an incredible source of info, news, stories and laughs, for us stay-at-homers. I've been at it for over three years now, with 2 little ones (a boy almost 4, and a girl almost 2). Never in my life did I think I'd be doing this, yet I always knew I'd be a dad. It's a tough job, tougher than I could ever imagine, sometimes I think I could spend the day lugging around a bunch of bricks and not be more tired, but the reward, being with them, being able to see and experience every step of their growing up, makes up for it all. The housework sucks.

I am positive you've been there, and get the idea but I need this life rehash to ground myself on how my life has improved, so please bear with me.
I've likened it to doing all your daily errands when they are young by carrying an extra 40 pounds with you no matter where you go, what you do. Diapers, diaper bag, stroller, car seat/stroller sleeper unit ,kid, spare change of clothes, and all other associated BS; oh, so your flying somewhere? Better add another 30 pounds of baby/mom soothing crap.
Then you get the Kelty baby backpack and its all now on your back but now they have a favorite doll or bear that if lost, makes hell on your day so now you need eyes in the back of your head as well.
Then biking with a Burleigh trailer, all the aforementioned BS AND a 40 pound trailer when you hear from the cheering section in the back "Dad, now go down the hill faster!" as they strain forward to skim the tread on the high RPM rear spokes/tire with their tiny fingers. Things lighten up considerably when 4 happens and they get more mobile but mom knows better than you do, and still insists taking two of everything.
No girliemen allowed in these parts!

It's a great day to be alive!
And we still need slimming after shedding 40+ pounds of life.
