Potty Training (When is the Right time?)

The other day my 2 year old son called me into his room and when I arrived his pants were off and he was trying to put his poopy diaper into the diaper genie. Does this mean that he is ready for potty training? Or does he need to start doing other things first, like tell me when he has a poppy diaper (in general, when i ask him if he has a poopy diaper he doesnt answer me or says no even if he really has a poopy diaper).

Has anyone else experienced the situation described above?

I think

that he has to realize what that urge is and make a corelation of what to do next, then you will have success. But this is a step in the right direction.
BTW, welcome

Time...

Time to buy a potty, book and/or video and just start talking about it. Don't push it yet. With boys you might get them decently trained before they start 3yo preschool.

If 3 YO preschool happens

One thing to keep an eye out is if the have a potty training program ie. every 45 minutes they are asking if they need to use the bathroom. If you are lucky it won't even be an issue, but it helped out with us, just make sure you find out what terminology and times they use so you can carry on at home.

I would belive so. It was like the whole bottle thing for us. my familt is firm belivers that as soon as they can hold the bottle by themselves, they can use a cup, or sippy. If my kid can differenciate between her #1 and #2. Then it is time.
