Media contacts wanted

I occasionally get requests for interviews from various media people. I can't handle all of these myself, so I'm looking for volunteers who would be interested in talking when these things come up. The typical request involves anything from a journalism student doing an article on dads, real reporters needing a dad-related sound bite, various tv shows, and people writing books. There are some nice benefits: You get to help present a positive image of at-home dads, it's fun to see your name in the paper or otherwise have your 15 minutes of fame, and it's usually not a big time committment.

If you're interested, contact me with this information:

1. Your (real) name
2. Phone number
3. Email address
4. City and state where you live (sometimes they're looking for someone local)
5. Number of kids and ages (sometimes there's a particular request)
6. Which of these you'd prefer:

A. I can give your contact information out (so that the people can contact you directly). You'll be more likely to see some action with this option, because it makes life easier for the reporter. Obviously, I'd only give your contact info to requests that appear legitimate.

or

B. I will forward the person's contact information to you (so you can choose to contact the people yourself or not). This is less desireable, because it's harder to make sure that the request has been handled by someone.

My wife asked me if I had signed up for the 401k yet. I told her I hadn't. She asked me why and I told her I couldn't run that far.

Volunteering

I'm new on the site, but not new to full-time work-at-home fatherhood. I also have a professional history in journalism and PR, so I can handle inquiries as well as anyone. I also have the angle of being an adoptive dad, which seems to be hard to find in the world of work-at-home dads. So sure, I'd be glad to be a contact... tws
