Interesting . . .

and frightening. I'm not sure we'll remember what a normal childhood is in twenty years.

Proud to say...

The author actually commented on my blog. I think she google searched her own name. I was reporting on baby sign language.

in 20 years?, not too sure about now or the past 20 years. After reading the first several paragraphs of this article, I recalled seeing a TV show several months back about the competitiveness of NYC preschool & parenting, mind boggling and part of why we moved from the city. If one's primary goal in life is to steal your kids childhood in order to prepare them for the rat race, dog eat dog world, I can suggest several other books on a happier adulthood, healthy child development and getting your priorities straight in life and with parenting.
As if there's suddenly some better new found methods to parenting and approach to life that will get your babies and young children in the fast track of success.
How subjecting babies and kids to this is becoming so popular is beyond me, perhaps social pressure is my best guess. There are centuries of human success stories and achievements and they didn't have near the resources available today, oh that's right, they didn't need them.
Thanks but no thanks!
