I encourage everyone to use all seven dirty words today in his honor.

George Carlin wrote:

"I've always been sort of anti-authoritarian and I really don't like arbitrary rules and regulations that are essentially designed to get people in the habit of conforming."

class clown

My older brother and sister had Carlin's "Class Clown" album when I was a kid, and boy was it great! The seven words bit is classic, and his other stuff about Catholic school and growing up always cracked me up. Can't believe he's dead.

Frisbeetarianism

Carlin's humor is the brand of humor that I found to be among the funniest. Thought provoking and always current.

One of his thoughts was that of Frisbeetarianism. That is when you die, your soul flies up and gets stuck on the roof.

Or how about "Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity."

Thank you George Carlin! You will be missed!

Not the typical comedian

His comedy called us to think about ourselves and laugh at ourselves, in my opinion. (At least, he made me laugh and think at the same time.) He was a perfect blend of caring about the right things in this world and not caring about what people thought of him in certain aspects. Yes, he is going to be missed.
