Apologies for the late playgroup post guys. I completely forgot that I was responsible for organizing this month. It wont happen again. There's a chance of showers tomorrow morning but temperature-wise in the mid to high sixties. I'm taking a gamble here, but I'd like to be outdoors as much as possible while the weather is still on the warm side. That said, lets hit Wrightwood Park. We got hit with showers the last time we were here and discovered that there were plenty of trees to run to for cover. Also parking is never much of a problem if we need to pack things up in a hurry.
There are a lot of swings and running room, two play sets and a great sandbox, so bring your pales and shovels. Ruby and I have a class in the morning but will be there around 11:00 and plan on staying past noon. Hope to see you guys there, Shawn

Big Red
Thanks Shawn, good choice.;
I wonder what the situation is with the fieldhouse at Wrightwood Park? When I have been there on Thursdays it has usually been open but with no activities going on. I wonder could we use it occasionally or if another park has a space we could use in the Winter?
not today
Shawn & Friends,
James fell off of a climber platform last Sunday and has three lovely stiches in the chin. I think we're going to lay low until next week. Thanks for organizing and see you then.

Poor James Poor Ruby
Totally understand Jim. Ruby stabbed herself with a bamboo shoot at the Garfield Park Conservatory last week and had to get three stiches in her middle finger. A bamboo shoot? It was our third trip to the emergency room, I'm sure we have a DCFS file on us by now. John, I think looking into a space for playgroup during the winter would be great. I'm on pretty good terms with a few park directors with great field houses. I'll see if they have any availability and how much it would cost to rent, though I'll try my best to get it for free of course.
Stabbed!?!
Oh my God!
I'm so sorry. I think I'm the one who suggested going to Garfield.
Please offer my apologies to Ruby.

"If not you, Who? If not now, When?"
Sorry guys
Hi guys,
This is my first day alone w/ Talia and wife has the car for work so I think I'll have to pass.

Garfield Park Near Death Experience
No worries Adamsdad, she's fine. Besides chicks with scars are cool. Also, my wife is the Education Developer at the Garfield Park Conservatory, we practically live there. In fact Ruby is their unofficial mascot. But then again, I do like blaming others for my problems so... damn you Adamsdad, damn you!
Fieldhouse in winter
Shawn,
I'm willing to kick in a few bucks for a gym/fieldhouse this winter! Let me know if you want me to make any calls.
Jim
Success!!
Sorry I couldn't make it to the play group today. It was my first day with Talia with no one else around and we both survived. Of course out of the 7 hours Shira was gone, Talia slept about 4 but she took a bottle and there were no issues. I feel much more comfortable knowing I didn't break my daughter (but tummy time still sucks). Hopefully I'll be able to make it out soon now that Talia's taking a bottle but we'll see since Shira will have the car. We're going to have to buy another but we're trying to hold off as long as possible. RE: the field house idea, definitely willing to kick in but I guess we'd have to find out how much first.
