Here is an easy way to create clickable maps to keep track of all the fun places that you can go with your kids. I created maps of cool things to do around Green Bay so the dads can find things easier. The web site is called BatchGeoCode and it is easy and free.

BatchGeoCode lets you cut and paste a comma-delimited (CSV) file into a web page form and creates a nice interactive map. I use excel to organize my data into worksheets and just copy and past. The web site allows the maps to be saved as a HTML and also KML (Google Earth) files. The web page is hosted on their site until no one uses it for 30 days and then it gets deleted. We can add, URL’s, photos and other goodies to the page and create the maps as needed. You can copy to HTML to your site. Nice!

So, I use excel to create a file with the correct rows and columns and it creates the map for me. If you want to see where to go, where kids eat free, or get some ideas for getting out of the house-see the map! If your map is limited to 26 or less entries, it create A-Z labels on it. I used to have everything in one file, but BatchGeoCode croaks after about 100 entries.
