Please post your general interest questions about the 2007 convention here...convention organizers will monitor this thread closely and will post answers as quickly as we are able (...but remember, we're busy AHD's too, so "closely" and "quickly" are relative!).

golf

Is anybody interested in golf over Harleys? I'd be willing to suggest a round while we're there. There is a convienient golf course about 5-7 min from KCI in Platte City (if Sunday morning was open).

Can't get enough.

I've had to watch that now about 10 times since it's been posted. Awesome work. I did forward it to RebelDad.

Hotel renovations will have no impact on us

Since we've gotten a few inquires on this from people who have made their hotel reservations and saw the warning about work happening at the hotel into November, I thought I'd post some information. According to the hotel, the "renovations" are just a reconfiguration of some meeting rooms across the hall from where our Hospitality Room is: there will be not impact to guest rooms, the lobby, the food service area, or our Hospitality room.

Chiefs

I was able to get single seats off of ticketmasker. They didn't have any tickets trying to order them in pairs. I'm not going, but I wanted to see if it was working or not. Try ordering singles.

Golf

Golf in KC the first week in November doesn't sound good to me. I love to golf, but not with a winter coat and gloves ;)

Don't be so pessimistic...

phillipandrew:

Don't be so pesssimistic...at least year's convention, we finished up the Thursday night DNO on the outside terrace of a pub on The Plaza...and nobody was wearing more than a sweater. November can go either way...in our years in KC our kids have worn short sleeves on Halloween, but have also had to deal with sleet.

Golf might be great...but there is a reasonable chance is might suck. We're a crucial couple of hundred miles closer to the equator from you...

Now Wait a second...

What is this about nobody wearing shirts after DNO? I know that some people had a couple of beers but I don't think anyone was that far gone.

Wow Doug!

Remember guys, it's not the size of the shuttlecock that matters; but rather, the depth and consistency of your attacking clear.

golf ISN'T for sissies (really)

Golfers should be the most optimistic when wondering if the weather is going to affect their game. I've played golf in KC on New Year's Day (Flagsticks were frozen in cups) and that was a time for coats and gloves, but the first weekend in November?? I give it a slightly better chance for favorable conditions than the second weekend. How about we just play it by ear and make a decision when it gets closer to the actual weekend? Keep your optimism up!!

Aye, there's nary an animal alive that can outrun a greased scotsman...

Here Here

I hav e played golf on every major holiday in KC and the first week of Novemer is a cake walk, the Christmas and New Years rounds can be questionable, although a couple of years ago it was 70 degrees, played in shorts and shirtsleeves. One of the best courses in KC, in my professional opinion, is located very near the airport, Shoal Creek. It is beautifully maintained and can be very easy or very difficult depending on what tees you play. If that sounds good, check out Lastminutegolfer.com for some really great discounts on green fees.

Last years weather was weird

When I left my house in St. Louis it was 80 degrees. A storm hits halfway across Missouri and when I get out of my car in KC it dropped to around 40 degrees, and all I packed was shorts and T-Shirts!
