Dads who are looking for advice, get together, set up play groups or whatever SAHD needs come up.
I am thinking about opening a dance studio and want to cater the time waiting to the parents. So for example, I want to have a yoga or pilates class while the moms wait for their daughter's ballet class to be finished. I am having trouble coming up with ideas for the dads. Can anyone give me ideas that you would be interested in doing for one hour while waiting for your daughter's dance class to be finished. Martial Arts; kick boxing; video games??? The other room will be a smaller multipurpose room such as one you would see in a gym. It will have hardwood sprung floors and mirr
This group is for Dads in the Rockaway-Five Towns sections of queens and Nassau county.
We also welcome dads from Marine Park and Mill Basin in Brooklyn. If you want membership,
let us know a little about yourself.
About a week ago, our NYC Stay at Home Dads Group was featured on Fox News channel on a segment titled "No more Mr. Mom - Shattering the Stereotypes." Overall, I thought we demonstrated being an at-home-dad to be exactly what it is - a positive experience, rewarding, fun, and cool! How cool is it to get to spend quality time everyday with your child!

I recently started a dads group in New York City (NYC) as a way to connect with other dads in a similar situation. Our group has dads who are home full-time, part-time, freelance, and even a few working dads who take a day off once in a while to join us. We are a divers group and welcome new members. We are a small, but growing group of 63 dads. About 12 of us meet weekly and take advantage of what the city has to offer during the week while most people are working! We have a blog site as well to share some of our experiences and interesting content. Our blog
Meet other local Stay At Home Dads in and around New York City (NYC) to arrange playdates with kids and to interact with other guys in the same situation.
My primary goal is to form small get togethers during the week while the rest of the world is working so we can take advantage of what the city has to offer without the crowds while still allowing time in the evenings and weekends for our family bonding time.
Our meet ups meet once a week at a local park, museum, play gym, zoo, restaurant, or if lucky - someone's playroom/lounge in their building.
A group for stay at home dads of toddlers or elementary school aged kids in Staten Island, NY. To get in touch and possibly plan group activities, playground trips, etc.

Guys:
The producer from the morning TV show; Fox & Friends is still looking for an NYC ahd. Please see what she sent me and respond directly to her if you wish, or myself;
Alright so heres whats going on.
Basically our son will be here over the summer. My wife makes MUCH more money than I do and has more invested in her career, as well, has great insurance, I have none. we can not really afford day care and as well I am freaked out and not cool in anyway with my infant son being basically raised by a stranger for 10 plus hours five days a week.
The problem is that my wife will not even consider me being a stay at home dad. she basically would think of me as a failure, because "dad's don't stay at home"

My name is Matthew Butler and I live in Middle Village, NY which is in Queens. I'm looking for some fellow NYC dads to possibly hang with or set up a playdate or something just to get me out of the house. I have a 3 year old daughter Lily and we are planning on having another child very soon. So it looks as though I'll be at home for quite some time. I play rugby in my spare time with the Brooklyn Barons. I'm one of the founding members of the club as well as Vice President/Recruiting Director. So between my daughter and rugby I'm a fairly busy guy.
